Few respond to questions regarding COVID-19 and the county

A list of questions were sent to a number of local county officials regarding the incident management team, the health department and what is happening in regards to COVID-19 planning.
The questions were asked by the Journal after the county commissioners didn’t seem to have answers to questions that were being asked such as why does the county need to hire someone to help the health department when there is an incident management team. At the time of the Nov. 16 commissioners’ meeting, they didn’t have an answer.
Because there wasn’t an answer and little has been said about what the health department, emergency management agency and incident management team are doing, the Journal sent questions through emails to several county officials. The emails were sent to the official county emails and also some personal emails as the county emails don’t always work. Those who were emailed include the commissioners, county council, the health department, the emergency management agency and some newly elected officials. The responses only came from a few people including incident management public relations chair Brian Ledley, council members Kathi Thompson and Brian Young.
