Bernard Mittica, former fire chief, was traveling south on U.S. 35 with his 11-year-old granddaughter when the red 2003 GMC Sierra they were in was hit partially head-on by a black 2002 Mercury Mountaineer, driven by Shawn Knebel, traveling north on U.S. 35., south of CR 315 S. The drivers of the vehicles were flown to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries. The 11-year-old was treated and released.

Former Logansport fire chief seriously injured in two-vehicle accident

A former Logansport Fire Chief was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident on March 12 while traveling through Pulaski County.
