Annabelle L. Messer

Jan. 24, 1932 — April 8, 2017

Annabelle L. Messer, 85, of Francesville, went home to be with the Lord at 7:11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac. 

She was born on Jan. 24, 1932, in Francesville, to the late Joseph and Lena (Tyler) Yaggie. On Oct. 22, 1958, Annabelle married Carroll J. Messer in Francesville. Carroll died on Dec. 31, 2014.

Annabella lived most of her life in Francesville. She graduated from Francesville High School in 1950. Annabelle had worked at the Von Tobel Lumber Center in Francesville for eight years. Annabelle was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Francesville.

Survivors include her son Michael [Dawn] Messer of Crescent City, California; granddaughters: Felicia [Nicholas] Brock of Simi Valley, California, and Kayla [Kevin] Walsworgth of San Diego, California; great-granddaughter Laney Brock; and brother Irvin Yaggie of Francesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll J. Messer; parents Joseph and Lena (Tyler) Yaggie; sisters: Elsie May Yaggie and Viola (Strus) Logan; brothers: Merle Walter Yaggie and Harry J. Yaggie; and nephew Matthew Lee Strus. 

Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville, and one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at the Apostolic Christian Church, Francesville, with the ministers of the church officiating. Burial will take place in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville.

Memorial contributions may be given to Parkview Haven Retirement Home.
