Doris Arlene Fritz

July 23, 1924 — Feb. 27, 2018

Doris Arlene Fritz, 93, of Francesville, went home to be with the Lord at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville. 

Doris was born on July 23, 1924, in Rensselaer, to the late Emmett and Laura “Daisy” (Fritz) Kruger. On Feb. 20, 1943, she married Lewis V. Fritz in Lincoln, Nebraska. Lewis died on Dec. 17, 2000. Doris was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Bible Church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Doris was the former owner and operator of the Faith Bible Shop in Francesville. Doris enjoyed visiting with her family. She was an avid Bible reader and enjoyed music and reading. 

Doris is survived by her daughters: Phyllis [Harlen] Tomlinson of Monon, and Karen Fritz of Monon; sons: Alan [Kay] Fritz of Winamac, and Stephen [Yvette] Fritz of Francesville; six  grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Lawrence Kruger of St. Johns, Michigan, and Don Richard Kruge of St. Johns, Michigan; and sisters: Alvera Rodman of Florida, and Marilyn Curtis of St. Johns, Michigan. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Emmett and Laura “Daisy” (Fritz) Kruger; husband Lewis V. Fritz; brothers: Leland Kruger and Verlen Kruger; and sisters: Louise Hunnicutt and Carolyn Fritz. 

Visitation was 3-8 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, at the Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville. Rev. Larry Fugett officiated. Burial took place at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville.
