Emmett Flemming Joseph

Emmett Flemming Joseph, 79, of Westville, passed away Saturday, July 7, in Valparaiso. 

He was born March 14, 1939, in Rensselaer, to Clarence and Lola (Wireman) Joseph. On June 16, 1979, in Michigan City, he married Clover Gale (Moon) Hyatt, who passed away July 4, 2014. 

Emmett is survived by his children: Tammy Joseph Parkerson of San Pierre, Duane Eddy Joseph of Knox, Keith Evan Hyatt of Westville and John Raymond Hyatt of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren: Matthew, Christine, James, Emma, Travis, Derrek, Tiffany and Jesse; his great-grandchildren: Jesse, Jilliyan, Joselyn, Michael, Graceland, Owen, Joseph, Adrian, Isaac, Mason, Matthew, Ethan, Evan and Jack. Also surviving him are his brothers and sisters: Ruby, Omer, Janet, Sharon, Larry and Lonnie. 

Preceding him in death also are his son David Eric Joseph; his parents; and siblings: Delos, Alamo, Loretta, and Charles. 

Emmett was a U.S. Navy veteran. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, July 13, at Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W. Walnut St. in Westville. Burial will be in Westville Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home. www.newhardfuneralhome.com.
