Florence M. “Flo” Bucher

June 14, 1922 — Oct. 2, 2017

Florence M. “Flo” Bucher, 95, of Monticello, (formerly of Francesville) went to be with the Lord at 5:35 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, surrounded by her family at home. 

She was born on June 14, 1922, in Francesville, to the late Conrad and Lena (Gudeman) Gutwein. On July 4, 1943, Flo married Leslie A. “Les” Bucher in Francesville. He passed away on April 13, 2014. 

Flo and Les began their family in La Crosse, later moving to Francesville where they were members of the Apostolic Christian Church. Flo enjoyed being a farmer’s wife. They moved to Rensselaer in 1986. Flo faithfully served as a pastor’s wife at Milroy Community Bible Church for many years. In 2001, Flo and Les moved to Monticello, where they attended Zion Bethel Church. 

Flo loved her family very much and will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include her sons: William [Maureen] Bucher of Monticello, and Michael [Della] Bucher of West Lafayette; daughters: Laurel [Bing] Hare of Wichita, Kansas, and Roxann [Tom] Burghardt of Monticello; granddaughters: Bridgit [Brady] Bucher-Smith, Leslie [Claudio] Corenchuc, Dawn [Frank] Oliver, and Stacy [Richard] Pollard; grandsons: Troy [Nicole] Hare, Jeremy [Jacqueline] Bucher, Chad [Maggie] Franscoviak, Jason [Michel] Burghardt, and Travis [Rebekah] Burghardt; 20 great-grandchildren; brother Raymond Gutwein of Peoria, Illinois; sisters: Irma Germann of San Pierre, and Carolyn [Cal] Kaufman of Cissna Park, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Conrad and Lena (Gudeman) Gutwein; husband Leslie A. “Les” Bucher; one infant granddaughter; sisters: Helen Hild, and Ruth Heinold; and brothers: Clarence Gutwein, Lewis Gutwein, Richard Gutwein and Melvin Gutwein. 

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. Funeral Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, Francesville. Pastor Dennis Gutwein officiated. Burial took place in Roseland Cemetery, Francesville. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to ViaQuest Hospice.
