Glen Munz Gutwein

July 13, 1928 — Oct. 31, 2022

Glen Munz Gutwein, 94, of Francesville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 31.  

He was born on July 13, 1928, in Francesville to the late Fred and Katie (Munz) Gutwein. He graduated from Francesville High School in 1948. Glen served in the U.S. Army. He married Mary Ann Altvater on June 26, 1960, in Milford. She passed away on Dec. 12, 2016. 

Glen was a lifelong farmer and worked at Gutwein Seeds in Francesville. He was a devoted member of the Francesville Apostolic Christian Church. Glen loved spending time with his family, especially playing games with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  

He is survived by two daughters: Beth [Ed] Russell and Glenda [Brian] Allinder; four grandchildren: Brian [Megan] Timmons, Leslie [Jeremiah] Zahn, Cameron Allinder and Colin Allinder; three sisters: Fern Leman, Marcella Gudeman and Suzanne Cook; and many nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters and four brothers. 

Services were at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Francesville with the Ministers of the Church officiating. Burial was at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville. The American Legion conducted military graveside services. 

Visitation was from 2-5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Francesville and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
