Jeffrey Brian “JB” Swartzell

Jeffrey Brian “JB” Swartzell, 55, of Rochester, formerly of Winamac, passed away at 6:57 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Dupont Hospital in Ft. Wayne, after a brief illness. 

JB was born on Sept. 13, 1963, in Winamac, to Jeffrey Lynn and Georgia Joesta (Lebo) Swartzell. He was a graduate of Winamac, Community High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winamac. 

JB enjoyed farming with his dad and was an avid sports fan. He especially enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys. 

JB was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend and will be sadly missed. 

He is survived by his parents Jeffrey Lynn and Georgia Joesta (Lebo) Swartzell of Winamac; sister Shelley Swartzell of Winamac; brother William R. Swartzell of Winamac; nephews: Nathan Swartzell of Winamac, and Matthew Swartzell of Winamac; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Robert and Esther (Lavon) Swartzell, and Vernal and Thelma Lebo. 

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Pastor Mark Pilger officiated. Burial took place at McKinley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Winamac.
