Joseph F. Scheffer

Joseph F. Scheffer, 79, of Star City, passed away peacefully at 9:47 a.m., Saturday, April 28, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born on July 6, 1938, in Pulaski, he was the son of the late Michael and Roberta Minnie (Crist) Scheffer.

He was a Pulaski High School graduate and a lifelong Pulaski County farmer. Joe enjoyed bowling, collecting die-cast International tractors and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughters: Tammy Powers of Winamac, Patty Scheffer of Star City, Judy [Jeremy] Rasmussen of Star City, and Jo [Jim] Runk of Star City; their mother Joan Scheffer of Kewanna; brother William “Bill” Scheffer; grandchildren: Melissa Hickle, SaDonna Mayer, Tonya Kasten, Rose Criswell, Seth Barton, Bryce Rasmussen, Kallie Rasmussen, Hunter Peterson, Brennen Runk and Kaden Runk; companion Joyce Girton of Star City; and several great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 4, at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulaski County Animal Center.
