Joyce Jalyne Cunningham

Joyce Jalyne (Jordan) Cunningham, 83, of Greenfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 15, at home.

She was born Aug. 29, 1939, in Pulaski County, the daughter of Alfred and Fern M. (Baker) Jordan.

Joyce gave her heart to Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord at the age of 13.

She committed her life to serving Him as a nurse. She trained at South Bend Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and served in that ministry in Warsaw and Indianola, Iowa. She spent her last nursing years at Greenfield Area Medical Center from which she retired in 2000 after 22 years of service.

She was a member of the Trinity Christian Union Church and loved people, especially children. She provided gifts, books and booklets for their spiritual growth. She also served as a pastor’s wife and helped start and manage a Christian Bookstore in Excelsior Springs, Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph F. Cunningham, whom she married on August 13, 1960. Also surviving are her four children: Michelle Cunningham, Michael Cunningham, Paul [Donna] Cunningham all of Greenfield and Daniel [Deborah] Cunningham of Earleville, Maryland; grandchildren: Tatiania K. [David] Weaks, Natalie Dawn Cunningham, Nicholas Paul Cunningham, Jordan Keanu Cunningham, Joseph Alford Cunningham, John Paul Cunningham, Julia Rose Cunningham, James Michael Cunningham; three great-grandchildren; three brothers: Jim [Delilah] Jordan of Francesville, David [Kathi] Jordan of Francesville, William [Ruth] Jordan of Peoria, Illinois; one sister: Judy [Jake] Hoffman of Winamac; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Mark Jordan; both parents; and sister Janese Jordan.

Funeral service was at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 21 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Mike Anderson, Pastor Marcus Tolle and Pastor Joseph Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Visitation was from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
