Judith A. “Judy” Cosgray

Oct. 25, 1934 — Sept. 6, 2017

Judith A. “Judy” Cosgray, 82, of Buffalo, passed away peacefully at 4:55 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born on Oct. 25, 1934, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose (Lanz) Tieman.

She was a Pulaski High School graduate, Class of 1952.

On Jan. 14, 1956, she married Leroy C. Cosgray. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 2013.

Judy owned and operated Judy’s Beauty Shop in Buffalo for more than 58 years. She was a member of Buffalo Christian Church where she also taught Sunday school through the years. Judy was also a past member of the Tri Kappa, Zeta Rho Chapter in Monon and the White County Historical Society. She was also the former chairman of the Buffalo Centennial Celebration and a founding member of the North White Athletic Boosters.

Judy enjoyed gardening, refinishing furniture, camping and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Steven L. [Joy] Cosgray of Buffalo, Mitchell L. [DeeAnn] Cosgray of Monticello, and Sheryl A. [Troy] Jones of San Tan, Arizona; sister Betty [Oscar] Ploss of Headlee; grandchildren: Megan [Chad] Haupert, Seth Cosgray, Kelsey [Corey] Stetler, Allyson [John] Cheever, Quentin Jones, Kaitlyn [Levi] Bunch, Brant Jones [fiance Courtney Cazarez] and Hannah Cosgray; and great-grandchildren: Kinley and Olivia Bunch, Hadley and Brooklyn Stetler and Grayson Haupert.

She was also preceded in death by sister Barbara Crist.

Visitation was 3-8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10, at Buffalo Christian Church. There was also one hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday. Services were at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 11, at Buffalo Christian Church. Evangelist Tom Haynie officiated. Burial took place at Hughes Cemetery in Monticello.

Memorial contributions may be made to Buffalo Christian Church and/or the Liberty Township Park in Buffalo.
