Lawrence R. “Hedge” Toosley

Lawrence R. “Hedge” Toosley, 62, of Medaryville, was called home on Nov. 26, surrounded by his family. 

Hedge was born to the late William A. and Laverne E. (Dreyer) Toosley on Jan. 4, 1955, in Rensselaer. Hedge was born into a loving home of 12 siblings. Hedge met the love of his life, Tammy Marie Dulin, and became one on March 22, 1975. Hedge and Tammy were blessed with three children and five grandchildren during their 42 years of marriage. Hedge worked 39 years at U.S. Steel and was a proud member of the Steel Workers Union Local 1014. He was a lifelong resident of Medaryville and loved his community and his family. He will be sadly missed.

He is survived by his wife Tammy Marie (Dulin) Toosley; sons: Larry [Tracy] Toosley and Jarred Toosley; daughter Janell [Brad] Odom; grandchildren: Preston, Tatum, Maisie, Ben and Adam; brothers: Raymond [Janet] Toosley, James Toosley and Michael [Ruth] Toosley; sisters: Gail Howard, Patricia Reid, Betty Jean [Jerry Nitcher] Patrick, Susan Hardesty, Robin Messer, and Rita [Larry] Williams; and many beloved nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents William A. and Laverne (Dreyer) Toosley; infant sister Mary Jane Toosley; and brother William M. Toosley. 

Visitation was from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville, with Bishop Rick Helton officiating. Burial will take place at Independence Cemetery in Medaryville.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
