Linville Salyer

Feb. 21, 1940 — Feb. 15, 2019

Linville Salyer, 78, of Salyersville, Kentucky, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, at his home. 

He was born Feb. 21, 1940, in Magoffin County, Kentucky, to the late Lacy and Meadie (Collins) Salyer. He was the husband of Margie Lee (Back) Salyer, who preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sons: Linville [Laura] Salyer Jr. of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, and Linzil [Karen] Salyer of Delphi; daughters: Patricia [Jeff] Joseph and Glenda Sue [Terry] Warren both of Salyersville, Kentucky; sisters: Geneva Burton of Knox, and Betty Lou Waldorf of Graham, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Linville was preceded in death by his daughters: Shelia Salyer and Charlotte Salyer; brothers: Ted Salyer, Grover Salyer, Orville Salyer, Ishmel Salyer, Greenville Salyer and Russell Salyer; and sisters: Princess Williams, Juanita Banks, and Oleta Bohac.

Friends visited at the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, and prior to funeral services. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel. Larry Williams officiated. Burial followed in the Back Cemetery at Half Mountain, Kentucky.
