Nancy Carol Freeman

Nancy Carol Freeman, 77, of Winamac, went to be with her Lord at 10:08 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac. 

Nancy was born on Jan. 2, 1941, in Winamac, to the late Albert and Martha (Bleicher) Sehstedt. She was a 1959 graduate of Winamac High School. On Feb. 11, 1972, Nancy married the love of her life, Jerry D. Freeman, in Thornhope. He survives.

Nancy was a member of Kewanna Church of Christ. She was baptized into Christ many years ago and was a faithful servant until He called her home. 

Nancy enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening, raking leaves and bonfires. One of her favorite hobbies was designing bird houses with her brother. Her most precious pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Nancy will be sadly missed. 

Survivors include her husband Jerry D. Freeman of Winamac; daughters: Connie Bair of Winamac, and Lisa [John] Foy of Buford, Georgia; granddaughters: Lacy Bair of Winamac, and Colleen Foy of Buford, Georgia; grandson Sean Foy of Buford, Georgia; sister Evie Dollahan of North Judson; brother Butch [Linda] Sehstedt of Winamac; brother-in-law Vernal Freeman; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Martha (Bleicher) Sehstedt; infant granddaughter Cassandra Bair; sisters: Alice Sehstedt, Martha Freeman and Ruth [Curly] Holbrook; and brother-in-law Jake Dollahan. 

Visitation was 10 a.m.–noon Saturday, Jan. 6, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Services were held at noon Saturday, Jan. 6, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Bill Miller officiated. Burial took place at Winamac Cemetery in Winamac. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulaski Animal Center.
