Randy E. Baker

Jan. 26, 1954 — July 18, 2021

Randy E. Baker, 67, of Winamac, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 18. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Randy was born on Jan. 26, 1954, in Lafayette to the late Ralph W. and Dorothy A. (Weaver) Baker. He graduated from Winamac High School in 1972. On April 28, 1984, Randy married the love of his life, Brenda S. Crider.  

Randy was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Knights Columbus in Winamac. Randy was also a member of the Hoosier Cobra Club. He enjoyed farming, driving his Cobra, fishing, hunting and photography. Randy was a proud supporter of Pulaski County 4-H.

Randy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Brenda S. (Crider) Baker of Winamac; sons: Eugene [Angela] Baker of Rochester, John Baker of Evergreen, Alabama; daughter Stacy [Todd] Hargis of Fort Wayne; brother Kim Baker of Winamac; grandsons: Kaelan Baker and Richard Hargis; granddaughters: Isobel Baker, Sabina Baker and Bernadette Hargis; sister Debby [Jody] Stillwell of Winamac; brothers-in-law: Alvin Stamper of Winamac, Bob Crider of Logansport, Steve Crider of Winamac, Bill [Deb] Crider of Star City, Mike Crider of Winamac and Sam Crider of Winamac; sisters-in-law: Carol Shidler of Winamac, Karen [Gary] Graves of Winamac and Linda [Mario] Lopez of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph W. and Dorothy A. (Weaver) Baker; infant sister Brenda Baker; and sister Monica Stamper. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

A scriptural wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Frain Mortuary with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman officiating in Winamac followed by a rosary service. 

A funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac with Rev. Andrew DeKeyser officiating. 

Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
