Ruth Taylor

Nov. 6, 1926 — May 4, 2021

Ruth Taylor, 94, of Rossville (formerly of Winamac), passed away Tuesday, May 4 at her home. 

She was born on November 6, 1926, in Winamac to the late Perry V. and Ethel [Agnew] Troutman.

Ruth graduated from Kewanna High School. On June 9, 1944, she married Alfred N. “Al” Taylor at the Kewanna Church of Christ. He passed away on November 11, 2009. 

Ruth spent her life helping Al on the farm and working at First Union Bank and Trust in Winamac. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Winamac where she enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her son and his family. She especially enjoyed making crafts and traveling with them. Ruth will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her sister Lois Hansen; brother Charles “Chuck” Troutman; son Keith E. Taylor of Rossville; granddaughters: Shawna [Randall] Squirek of Attica and Lindsay Taylor of Camden; grandson Kyle [Jessica] Taylor of Lafayette; six great-grandchildren: Ashton, Mackenzie, Ariah, Arianna, Jackson and Brooklyn; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by parents Perry V. and Ethel [Agnew] Troutman; husband Alfred N. “Al” Taylor; brother Ivan Troutman; and sister Doris Miller. 

The family will gather on Thursday, May 13 from 4-7 p.m. for a celebration of life at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. 

A private burial will take place at Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac.
