Sharon D. King

May 6, 1947 — April 15, 2017

Sharon D. King, 69, of Star City, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport. 

She was born on May 6, 1947, in Rochester, to the late Robert and Olive (Johnston) Sparks. She graduated from Star City High School in 1965. On Dec. 18, 1969, Sharon married Lonnie L. King in Chicago. He survives.

Sharon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Logansport, where she was active in the Relief Society and Primary. 

Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her husband Lonnie King of Star City; son Matthew [Sandra Sawistowski] King of Berlin, Germany; daughters: Danette Stark of Sandy, Utah, and Shannon King of Star City; grandson Jeffrey King; granddaughter Alexis Stark; sisters: Karena [David] Macy of Lakeland, Florida, and Benita [Rod] Henry of Temple, Texas; brother Samuel Sparks of Clymers; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Olive (Johnston) Sparks; and brother Curtis Sparks. 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, with Rob Bettcher III officiating. Burial will take place at Star City West Cemetery in Star City.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
