Winamac Community High School names top graduates

Winamac Community High School is pleased to announce its top two graduates for the 2018-19 school year.
Jennifer Budd, daughter of Dave and Karen Budd, has been named the valedictorian and Jillian Brumm, daughter of Bryce and Lori Brumm, is the salutatorian.
Budd is a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club where she has served as president and has been involved in numerous other activities during her high school career. She has served as a three-time Academic Super Bowl captain and has been an active member of the conference math team. She has also participated in Future Problem Solvers, Shakespeare club, Spanish Bowl and the Sunshine Society.
Away from the classroom, Budd has excelled in music as a member of the concert band, drill marching, marching and parade marching band and pep band.
In the fall, Budd with be attending Manchester University to study biology and biological sciences.
Salutatorian Brumm has excelled not only in the classroom but on the athletic field as well. During her four years at Winamac Community High School, she has been a member of Academic Super Bowl, Alliance Bank Jr. Board of Directors, Athletic Leadership Council. HNAC Math Team, FCIA, FFA, High Five Friday, Key Club, National Honor Society, SADD and Sunshine Society.
As a Lilly Endowment Scholarship winner Brumm has earned other awards and recognition including distinguished honor roll, academic honors, Daughters of the American Revolution finalist and the MLK day community award.
Brumm has been very active in sports for the Lady Warriors, participating in basketball, track and volleyball, earning 12 varsity letters. She was recently named to the Hoosier Basketball Magazine’s top senior girls and has won numerous All-Conference awards.
She plans to attend Purdue University to study accounting.
