Winamac council moves forward with pool plan
Winamac residents may soon see what the future plans and drawings for a community pool will be as the Winamac Town Council recently approved to spend funding.
During a town council meeting on Dec. 30, councilwoman Judy Heater said she and town manager Brad Zellers have been working on plans for the pool. She gave an update of the proposed project.
The town allocated $5,000 for the plans to begin. Heater said the money has been spent and she is currently seeking grant funding to cover those expenses.
Zellers said there is a final engineered plan being completed so if the pool is not constructed this year, it could be in the future. He said it’s easier to obtain grant funding and fundraising money if there is a plan in place.
Council president Ken McFarland said it appears that everyone wants to see the plan completed.
It was suggested that Heater and Zellers try to obtain an invoice for the January meeting.
