Marvin L. Trueblood

Marvin L. Trueblood, 78, of Medaryville, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac. 

Marv was born on March 19, 1938, in Munster, to the late Delbert and Mary (Bough) Trueblood. He graduated from Lowell High School in 1956. During his senior year, he pitched every single baseball game and was an all-conference pitcher. 

On June 28, 1958, Marv married his high school sweetheart Sandra Taylor at the Lowell Methodist Church. She survives.

Marv and Sandra attended Francesville First Christian Church.

Marv worked for NIPSCO for 38 years and retired in 1994 as an area supervisor. 

Marv was an active member of his community, having been a part of the “chain gang” for West Central football and serving as vice president of the West Central Athletic Booster Club. He also had served on the West Central Scholarship Committee. 

He was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Moss Creek Country Club and was a Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers fan. 

Most of all, Marv was a true family man who loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Sandra L. Taylor Trueblood of Medaryville; sons: Robert [Christel] Trueblood of Beijing, China, Scott [Paula] Trueblood of Westville, and  Barry [Katrina] Trueblood of Elizabeth, Illinois; grandsons: Clayton Trueblood, Michael Trueblood, Garrison Trueblood, and  Hunter Trueblood; granddaughters: Emily Trueblood and Katelyn Trueblood; step-granddaughter Carly Christensen; sisters: Violet Buckley of Janesville, Wisconsin and Joy Ebert of Lowell; brother Bill [Laurel] Trueblood of Homewood, Illinois; and 30 nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Delbert and Mary (Bough) Trueblood; brother Bob Trueblood; sister Lois Boswinkle; nephews: Jeff Ebert, Tim Boswinkle and Dan Buckley; and niece Barbara Ebert. 

Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel, 230 S. Brooks St., Francesville. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at Francesville First Christian Church, 192 E. Lyman St., Francesville. Pastor James Ketchen officiated. Private burial will take place in Lowell Cemetery at a later date.
