Carl J. Thomas
Carl Thomas, 75, of Winamac, went to his eternal Home on Friday, Sept. 5. He passed away peacefully at his residence from natural causes.
Carl was born on April 17, 1950 at the Carneal Hospital in Winamac to the late George and Beatrice (Fisher) Thomas. He graduated from Culver High School in 1969. That same year he began his career McGill’s (Emerson). On March 29, 1970, Carl married Joyce White in Winamac. She survives.
Throughout his life, Carl faithfully served the Lord in many ways. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Francesville. For over 30 years, he volunteered with a local jail ministry known as Prisoners for Christ.
Carl was a talented woodworker and enjoyed building model planes. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by wife Joyce (White) Thomas, Winamac; daughter Jeanette [Michael] Pursifull, Winamac; son Christopher Thomas, Mishawaka; granddaughters: Tiffany [Terrance] Sidney, Melanie Pursifull and Christine Baxter; grandsons: Corbin [Kelly] Pursifull, Christian Thomas, Caleb Thomas; 11 great-grandchildren: Anthony, Claire, Danteveon, Isaiah, Edward, Raul Jr., Marianna, Jordon, Jasper, Jeremy, and Jaxson; brothers: Roy Thomas, Plymouth and Mitchell Thomas, Ora; sisters-in-law: Sandy Johnson, Monterey and Patricia [George] Deka, Mishawaka; brother-in-law Allen [Joyce] White, Winamac; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents: George and Beatrice (Fisher) Thomas; sister Beatrice Jackson; brother Thomas Thomas; sisters-in-law: Virginia Thomas, Claudia Thomas, Toulie Feece; and niece Ginger Kring.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 12, at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, with Pastor Dennis Gutwein officiating.
Burial will take place at Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac.
