Jean A. Button
Jean Ann Button, 75, of Winamac, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, after a brief illness.
Jean was born July 29, 1950 in Winamac to the late Walter L. and Eva Jane (Elliott) Drach. She attended Fairview School through 6th grade before transferring to Winamac High School. Upon graduation, she attended Ball State University and Elkhart Institute of Technology obtaining a degree in medical technology. On April 13, 1973, she married Robert E. “Bob” Button who had two sons, Vince and Rod, who Jean loved as her own. Jean and Bob also had a son of their own, Jack. Bob passed away on March 22, 2007.
Jean was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed gardening and baking. For many years was a lunch lady at Winamac High School. In her retirement years, she enjoyed reading and taking care of her kittens. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by sons: Jack D. Button and Rod L. [wife: Janine] Button; daughter-in-law Danette Button Comer; granddaughters: Jennifer [husband: Ben] Miller, Samantha [husband: Jon] Jenkins, Tori [husband: Zach]Swagger and Savanna [husband: Patrick] McCrory; several great-grandchildren; sister Mary Wagner; brother Walter E. “Junior” [wife: Catherine] Drach; sister-in-law Joan Drach; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents: Walter L. and Eva Jane (Elliott) Drach; husband Robert E. “Bob” Button; son Vince E. Button; brother Bob Drach; brother-in-law Tom Wagner; and nephew Dr. Thomas Drach.
As per Jean’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
Private burial will take place at Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Pulaski County Public Library, or Pulaski Animal Center.
