Elaine M. Runk

Aug. 21, 1946 — Sept. 11, 2026

Elaine Marie Runk, 80, of Mulberry, formerly of Medaryville, passed away on Friday, Sept. 11, at Mulberry Health. She was born on Aug. 21, 1946 in Valparaiso, to the late Henry and Mabel (Barneko) Biggs. After graduating from Valparaiso High School in 1964, Elaine attended beauty college and became a licensed cosmetologist. She worked hard throughout her life, having worked at Monon Trailer and retiring from Con Agra.

Elaine was an avid bowler, competing in local leagues. She was also an animal lover, raising numerous dogs over the years. She enjoyed playing cards (especially Euchre) and board games with family and friends. She loved everything Hallmark, including her socks!

On Dec. 23, 1966, Elaine married Terry “Pete” Runk in Valparaiso. She was a devoted wife who supported her husband in many ways, including operating P & E Fab Craft together. Pete passed away on Jan. 5, 1994. Elaine was a loving mother and grandmother. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by sons: Brandon [wife: Bonnie] Runk and Glendon [wife: Iliana] Runk; daughter Shereese Moore; seven grandchildren: Brandon, Pete, Colin, Maya, Gavin, Lilian, and Meleah; brothers: Ronald [wife: Theresa] Biggs and Larry [wife: Jan] Biggs; and several nieces and nephews. 

Preceded in death by parents: Henry and Mabel (Barneko) Biggs; and husband Terry “Pete” Runk. 

Visitation will be from noon – 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, at Frain Mortuary in Francesville.  

Graveside services at White Post Cemetery in Medaryville, immediately following visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulaski Animal Center.
