Ruth J. Harbut

Ruth J. (Kestle) Harbut, 91, of Monticello, formerly of Highland, passed away Wednesday, March 11, at the White Oak Health Campus in Monticello.

Born April 25, 1923, in Winamac, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Ethel (Williams) Kestle.

Ruth was the owner/operator of Kute Kurl Beauty Shop in Hammond. She was a former member of Our Lady of Grace Church Altar and Rosary Society and Sewing Circle. Ruth was an avid artist and tole painter and she loved to travel and loved fishing.

She is survived by her niece Kathy [Brian] Houston of Winamac; and nephew John [Jo Ann] Weaver of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore F. Harbut, on Jan. 29, 2007.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 14, at the Anthony & Dziadowicz Funeral Home, 9445 Calumet Ave., Munster. Rev. Edward Moszur officiated. Burial followed at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Grace Boiler Fund.
